Donyi Polo Airport at Hollongi is connecting Itanagar, the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh with the other parts of the country as well as a few districts of Arunachal Pradesh. Hollongiairport is well connected with Kolkata airport from which one can travel to prime locations within the country and abroad. There is another airport in Tezu which is located at the Northern part of the state is connected with Guwahati International Airport with direct flights. One can also travel to Lilabari Airport, Guwahati International Airport, Tezpur airport which are well connected with the capital city via bus and train services.
The Naharlagun Railway station situated 15 KMs away from the Itanagar city is the closet one to the State Capital. There are regular trains connecting Guwahati and Naharlagun. It also handles few trains from Delhi. Naharlagun is well connected with Itanagar via bus, taxi and auto services.
The state-owned Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Service (APSTS) runs its bus service to some major district headquarters like Tezpur and Guwahati in Assam, Shillong in Meghalaya and Dimapur in Nagaland. Every town and village in Arunachal Pradesh has its own bus station. Apart from buses taxis are the only other form of public transport.
National Highway 52, NH 15 and NH 415 are the national highways that run into Arunachal Pradesh. Itanagar can be reached from Banderdewa, North Lakhimpur, Tezpur and Guwahati.
